What to expect when switching to Bloomber

Last reviewed 2026-07-06

What this guide covers

An honest picture of what actually transfers when you switch to Bloomber, what you'll set up fresh, and where to go for the specifics of your previous platform.

Before you start

  • Know which platform you're coming from — Booksy, Square, or something else — since what transfers depends on that.
  • Have your team's contact info ready — you'll invite them into Bloomber directly.

Migration risks

  • Nothing transfers automatically for most businesses. Right now, Bloomber has staff-assisted help importing your client list and service catalog only if you're coming from Booksy. Every other platform — including Square — means setting your clients, services, and team up directly in Bloomber.
  • Appointment history doesn't transfer, from any platform. Past bookings, notes on clients, and visit history stay in your old system. If you want a record, export what you can from your old platform before you close that account.
  • A blackout window is normal. Returning clients who are used to booking on your old platform may be confused for a short stretch after you switch — plan to point them to your new booking link directly.

Migration timeline

  • Before you switch: Set up your Bloomber account, team, services, and payments. See the migration readiness checklist.
  • Switch week: Go live on Bloomber, redirect clients to your new booking link, keep your old platform account active but not accepting new bookings for a short overlap if you can.
  • First 30 days: Confirm everything's working as expected and settle into normal operations. See stabilize after migration.

Steps

Phase 1: Prepare

Set up your Bloomber account before you touch anything on your old platform. See Set up your business profile, hours, and services and Prepare Stripe, services, and team data before go-live.

Phase 2: Migrate

What this looks like depends on where you're coming from:

Phase 3: Verify

Confirm everything's actually live and correct before telling clients you've switched. See Verify your migration: post-switch checks.

Phase 4: Stabilize

Give yourself the first 30 days to settle in. See Stabilize after migration: first 30 days.

What success looks like

  • You know exactly what transfers automatically (very little, today) and what you're setting up fresh.
  • Your team, services, and payments are ready before you tell clients you've switched.

Common problems

  • I assumed everything would transfer automatically and it didn't — That's expected for most platforms today — see the migration readiness checklist to know exactly what to prepare before you switch.
  • I'm not sure which guide applies to me — Check which platform you're coming from: Booksy, Square, or anywhere else.
