What this guide covers
How to export what you can from Square for your own records, and set your business up fresh in Bloomber — there's no automated import from Square today.
Before you start
- There's no staff-assisted or automated import from Square into Bloomber right now — you'll set your clients, services, team, and payments up directly in Bloomber.
- Square's own export tools are worth using before you close your account, even though nothing imports automatically — export your customer list, team list, and payment/transaction history for your own records first.
Migration risks
- Nothing transfers automatically. Your client list, service catalog, and booking history all need to be set up fresh in Bloomber.
- Square doesn't export your service catalog at all. Have your final service list, durations, and prices ready to enter directly.
- Once you deactivate Square, you lose access to your data. Export everything you want to keep before closing your account — Square is explicit that deactivation removes access to payment history and account information permanently.
Migration timeline
- Before you switch: Export what you can from Square for your own records, then set your business up fresh in Bloomber.
- Switch week: Go live once your team, services, and payments are configured.
- First 30 days: Add clients as they book, or manually add your known regulars ahead of time if you'd rather have them in the system from day one.
Steps
Phase 1: Prepare
Export your customer list, team list, and payment/transaction history from Square's dashboard for your own records, before you close that account. Gather your final service list, durations, and prices — Square doesn't export services.
Phase 2: Migrate
Set up your team, services, and payments directly in Bloomber. See Prepare Stripe, services, and team data before go-live. Add clients manually if you want them in the system on day one, using your exported Square customer list as a reference.
Phase 3: Verify
Confirm your services, team, and payments are all live and correct. See Verify your migration: post-switch checks.
Phase 4: Stabilize
Give yourself the first 30 days to settle in as bookings come through your new system. See Stabilize after migration: first 30 days.
What success looks like
- You have your own records exported from Square before closing that account.
- Your business is fully set up in Bloomber — services, team, and payments — before you go live.
Common problems
- I want my Square client list in Bloomber — There's no automated import — add clients manually using your exported list as reference, or let them build up naturally as clients book with you.
- I closed my Square account before exporting — Square doesn't allow access to your data after deactivation — check your own records (emails, prior exports) for anything you still need.
