Set up auto-refill to keep your Bloomber Credits topped up

Last reviewed 2026-07-11

What this helps you do

Bloomber Credits (BC) power metered usage — manual SMS, campaign sends, and AI features — in one shared pool. Free lifecycle sends like appointment reminders and SMS receipts never draw from BC. Auto-refill automatically buys a credit pack on your card on file whenever your balance drops below a threshold you choose, so that metered usage doesn't stall mid-month.

Before you start

  • You need owner-level billing permissions — this page isn't available to providers.
  • Add a default card first. Go to Settings → Billing → Plan, card & invoices, then select Manage Payment Methods to add or update a card through Stripe. Auto-refill charges that card off-session, so a refill attempt fails without one on file.

Steps

Step 1: Open the credits settings

Go to Settings, open the Billing section, then select Credit balance & refill.

Step 2: Turn on Auto-Refill

In the "Auto-Refill" panel, switch on Enable Auto-Refill (or select the Enable Auto-Refill button shown in the empty state).

Step 3: Pick a refill pack

Under "Refill Pack," choose which credit pack auto-refill purchases each time it triggers. Each option lists its size in BC and its price.

Step 4: Set your threshold

Under "Threshold," pick a preset — Conservative (200 BC, refill when very low), Balanced (500 BC, recommended for most businesses), or Aggressive (1,000 BC, always stay topped up) — or select Custom and enter your own "Threshold balance (BC)" between 100 and 10,000. This is the balance that triggers a refill.

Step 5: Set a monthly cap

Under "Monthly Cap," choose how many refills auto-refill can run in a calendar month (1–10). The panel shows the maximum you could spend that month based on your pack's price and this cap.

Step 6: Save

Select Save Settings. A confirmation message appears once the settings are saved.

What success looks like

  • The Auto-Refill panel shows "Enabled," with your chosen pack, threshold, and monthly cap reflected back to you.
  • "Last refill" and "This month: X of Y refills used" update after a refill runs.
  • Your Bloomber Credits balance stops running dry between manual purchases.

Common problems

  • Auto-refill won't save, or the panel says there's no payment method on file — Auto-refill charges your tenant's default card. Add one in Settings → Billing → Plan, card & invoices, then come back and turn auto-refill on.
  • My balance is below the threshold, but nothing has refilled yet — Refills are checked automatically each time credits are spent, so it isn't always instant. Confirm the toggle is on and that you haven't already used all your refills for the month — the monthly cap resets at the start of each calendar month.
  • A refill charge failed — Auto-refill doesn't turn itself off after a failed charge. It simply tries again the next time your balance drops below the threshold, so update your card on file and it picks back up on its own — no need to re-enable anything.
  • Did that refill count against my monthly cap? — Only successful refills count toward the monthly cap. A failed charge attempt doesn't use up one of your allowed refills.
