What this helps you do

Connect a domain you already own to your Bloomber storefront while keeping the registration and DNS provider you already use. This is an external-DNS connection, not a registrar transfer.

Before you start

  • You need access to the Domains area.
  • Decide whether you want to keep your current registrar and DNS provider, or make a true registrar transfer. They are different workflows.
  • Have access to the account where your domain's DNS records are managed.

Choose the right domain path

Buy a new domain

Choose Buy when you do not already own the domain you want. Complete the checkout and contact details shown in the flow before setup can continue.

Transfer a domain

Choose a true registrar transfer only when you want to move the domain's registration. The transfer flow requires the authorization code from your current registrar and the requested contact details. A transfer is not the right path when you only want to point an existing domain at Bloomber.

Connect a domain you already own

Choose Connect a domain you already own when you want to keep your current registrar and DNS provider. This paid external-DNS setup does not transfer registrar ownership. The current one-time setup fee is shown in the flow; this guide does not state a fixed fee.

Steps

Step 1: Start the external-DNS connection

Open Domains, choose Connect a domain you already own, and enter the domain you want to connect.

Step 2: Complete checkout before verification

If the flow shows Checkout, finish the payment and any requested contact details first. Verification cannot continue until the flow has accepted payment.

Step 3: Copy the exact DNS records displayed in Setup details

Open Setup details and copy every record exactly as shown: record type, host, and value. Add those exact displayed records at your existing DNS provider. Do not substitute example values from another guide or transfer the domain just to add the records.

Step 4: Verify the connection

Return to Bloomber and select Verify and connect domain. Bloomber compares the records it expects with the DNS records it can find.

Step 5: Allow DNS and HTTPS to finish

DNS changes can take time to propagate. A correct DNS result can still show HTTPS as pending while the secure site is being prepared. Keep the domain records in place while the status updates.

Expected-versus-found DNS troubleshooting

When verification shows Needs action, open the DNS details to compare the records Bloomber expected with the records it found. Compare each record's type, host, and value character for character. Update the records at your DNS provider until they match the expected values, then retry verification.

  • The expected record is missing — add that exact displayed record at your DNS provider.
  • The host, type, or value is different — correct the differing field to match the expected record.
  • The records match but status has not changed — allow time for propagation, then verify again.
  • DNS is verified but HTTPS is pending — leave the DNS records in place; HTTPS may finish after the DNS check.

What success looks like

  • Your domain shows Ready in the Domains area.
  • The domain remains registered and DNS-managed with the provider you kept for the external-DNS connection.
  • Your storefront is available through the connected domain once DNS and HTTPS are complete.
